Important Updates on COVID-19 at St Sava
Dear parishioners and friends of St Sava Serbian Orthodox Church,
In light of the ongoing developments with COVID-19 (Coronavirus), I want to assure each of you of our plans to keep everyone healthy who come to our parish seeking the Lord’s grace. The health and safety of our parishioners is always our top priority. If you are ill and/or elderly, we understand your hesitation to attend Divine Liturgy and know that we are praying for you!
Guided by that focus, we have made the decision to immediately institute the following steps to keep every parishioner healthy and help curtail the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus):
Divine Liturgy on Sundays will continue as usual. There is no change in the manner of distribution of the precious and all-holy Body and Blood of Christ. This is not up for discussion.
ICONS AND CROSS
Please refrain from kissing the Icons and Cross. Merely bow and cross yourself. (The Icons will be sanitized before and after each service.)
Sunday School is cancelled from now until April 5th.
Coffee Hour is cancelled from now until April 5th.
Wash your hands frequently and refrain from hugging, kissing, hand shaking and other close contact with people. This helps contain the spread of the virus.
We will continue to update you via email and our website in regard to the impact of this extraordinary situation. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we make the best decisions for our parish community, with its continued health, safety, and well-being our primary focus.
Please know of my prayers and concern for all of you. I ask for your prayers as we all deal with this outbreak.
